The TWIG Committee are very pleased to announce that the TWIG Macmillan Coffee raised 540 Euros for this great cause.   Thank you everyone who turned up with cake donations.  They were all very tasty and I think lots of homes continued to enjoy cake into the weekend,

TWIG CORONATION LUNCH

TWIG CORONATION LUNCH

The TWIG Committee would like to invite you all to a Coronation Lunch.  We know the official Coronation is in May but with all the French bank holidays it was decided that June would be a better month to hold our Coronation event hoping as many members as possible would like to come along.

Our Coronation Lunch will have an Afternoon Tea theme to it and will be a bring and share event.  More details on this from mid May.

At the moment, we ask that you save the date and let Fran know if you will be able to come along. Her details are available in the member’s directory.

These events take planning and we would like to have an idea of numbers making sure we have seating for everyone on the day.

President’s Letter To Members

President’s Letter To Members

Dear Members

As President of TWIG I´d like say a big WELCOME to all new members who joined this year. We are happy to meet you, hope you have made new friends, found a place in the TWIG family and that you will enjoy participating in our group activities and annual events.

Our summer lunch was enjoyed by all at the Teola Golf Club.  It was a good opportunity to catch up at last with so many friends and members we hadn´t seen for a while due to the Covid situation.

At the same event we held an Extraordinary General Meeting in which we passed, by a vote, a ruling which now allows TWIG, as a 1901 Association, to donate to a registered charity of our choice on an exceptional basis.  Members then voted to make a donation in support of Ukraine via the French Red Cross.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning held in aid of Macmillan UK supporting all their work with those suffering with cancer was held at the end of September. As usual it was very well supported and everyone was incredibly generous with both their monetary and cake donations.

TWIG Christmas Fair 2022 was a roaring success (no gale force winds this time) and there was a huge public turnout which was very encouraging.  There was a lovely display of high quality artisan stands as well as our usual TWIG Charity stalls with all profits going to this year’s three chosen charities; Autism 31, Les Amis des Animaux and Lovely Solidarity.

I’d like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our members and their husbands for all the hard work and effort which they put into this year´s main event.  The fair is always a big team effort and TWIG pulls it off year after year working together in good humour and harmony.

Our annual Christmas Lunch was held at the Ratelier Restaurant.  The food was excellent and the staff did a fabulous job, being very attentive to every TWIG member who attended. It was a great way to round off a good year for TWIG in a friendly and festive atmosphere.

Best wishes to you all and I look forward to meeting again in the New Year.

To celebrate we held a birthday lunch for our members catered by our members. Heather Lemetayer, the founder of TWIG was in attendance to share the history of our English Speaking Ladies Group, re-named a while ago to Toulouse Women’s International Group and to reflect on how the association has moved forward into the 21st century without losing its main aim of providing friendship and support for English speaking women, of all nationalities, across Toulouse and South West France. The Mayor of Pibrac called in to wish the association ‘Happy Birthday’ and all our members in attendance enjoyed raising a toast to our long standing association.
